چکیده

Cyber attacks on the Internet of Things (IoT) have seen a significant increase in recent years. This is primarily due to widespread adoption and prevalence IoT within domestic critical national infrastructures, as well inherent security vulnerabilities endpoints. Therein, botnets emerged major threat IoT-based infrastructures targeting firmware such weak or default passwords assemble an army compromised devices which can serve lethal cyber-weapon against target systems, networks, services. In this paper, we present our efforts mitigate challenge through development intrusion detection system that resides device provide enhanced visibility thereby achieving hardening devices. The device-level presented here part research framework BTC_SIGBDS (Blockchain-powered, Trustworthy, Collaborative, Signature-based Botnet Detection System). We identify systematic review existing literature detailed design component framework. use signature-based scheme with trusted signature updates strengthen protection emerging attacks. evaluated suitability capability generation custom signatures two most famous IDS ISOT, IoT23, BoTIoT datasets assess effectiveness respect anomalous traffic typical resource-constrained network terms number alerts, rates, time peak CPU memory usage.

A Survey of Anomaly Detection Approaches in Internet of Things

Internet of Things is an ever-growing network of heterogeneous and constraint nodes which are connected to each other and the Internet. Security plays an important role in such networks. Experience has proved that encryption and authentication are not enough for the security of networks and an Intrusion Detection System is required to detect and to prevent attacks from malicious nodes. In this ...

BotMosaic: Collaborative Network Watermark for Botnet Detection

Recent research has made great strides in the field of detecting botnets. However, botnets of all kinds continue to plague the Internet, as many ISPs and organizations do not deploy these techniques. We aim to mitigate this state by creating a very low-cost method of detecting infected bot host. Our approach is to leverage the botnet detection work carried out by some organizations to easily lo...

Device-to-Device Communications for 5G Internet of Things

The proliferation of heterogeneous devices connected through large-scale networks is a clear sign that the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT) is getting closer to becoming a reality. Many researchers and experts in the field share the opinion that the next-to-come fifth generation (5G) cellular systems will be a strong boost for the IoT deployment. Device-toDevice (D2D) appears as a key com...

Sensing in the Collaborative Internet of Things

We are entering a new era of computing technology, the era of Internet of Things (IoT). An important element for this popularization is the large use of off-the-shelf sensors. Most of those sensors will be deployed by different owners, generally common users, creating what we call the Collaborative IoT. This collaborative IoT helps to increase considerably the amount and availability of collect...
